Lets talk about the NEW HP Z Workstations

Are you as excited as we are for the new HP Z Workstations? We’ve spent some time with the new machines and no matter what the specifications of your current machine is, HP’s new Z Workstations can most likely top it. Everything about these new machines have been upgraded.

At first glance, it’s easy to see that the HP Z Workstations are completely new and evolved machines. Although we love the older HP Z Workstations, these new workstations make the older generations look completely outdated.  The sleek black machines have a more modern feel. Instead of being a simple rectangle, the chassis is now pushed out creating a more 3D feel and look. As usual, HP designed the chassis with tool-less access to the interior for quick upgrades. HP decided to go with a more dramatic look and even engraved the sides of the machines with its infamous “Z” logo. Finally, its newly placed vents and ducts streamline airflow for especially quiet performance.

The new HP Z8 Workstation is built for more serious software and has essentially been designed  for the video editor. The user is able to run more simulations and design reiterations or edit 8K video in real time with the unstoppable power of the HP Z8 Workstation.

Component upgrades include the following:

  • Dual Intel Xeon CPUS (up to 56 Cores) so you can get the performance you need – such as the Intel Xeon Platinum 8180 (2.5 GHz, 28C, 38.5 M).
  • There are 24 memory slots so the user is able to easily handle large data sets- up to 3TB memory.
  • Looking for storage? The HP Z8 Workstation is there when you need it. There is up to 48TB of storage so you can get the fastest performance when you’re working with storage bound applications.
  • Graphics important to you? The HP Z8 Workstation allows you to reach your peak productivity with a wide range of AMD and NVIDIA professional graphics cards such as dual NVIDIA Quadro P6000.

Similar to the HP Z8 Workstation (but just dialed down a bit) – the new HP Z6 Workstation is also built for serious software. The user is able to experience seamless performance during graphics-intensive work such as 3D CAD, rendering, VFX and design visualization.
