What Dell PowerEdge tower server models does VRLA Tech configure?
VRLA Tech configures the Dell PowerEdge T560 (dual-socket, Intel Xeon Scalable, up to 1 TB memory, up to 6 GPUs) and the Dell PowerEdge T360 (single-socket, Intel Xeon 6300 or E-2400, up to 128 GB memory, NVIDIA A2 GPU). Both are 4.5U office-friendly towers configured, burn-in tested, and supported from our Los Angeles facility.
What is the difference between the T560 and T360?
The T560 is a dual-socket enterprise tower with Intel Xeon Scalable 4th/5th gen, up to 1 TB DDR5 RDIMM, up to 24 drives, and up to 6 GPUs for AI inferencing and virtualization. The T360 is a single-socket entry tower with Xeon 6300 or E-2400, up to 128 GB DDR5 ECC UDIMM, and up to 8 drives. Choose T560 for enterprise workloads and T360 for SMB and remote office.
Can Dell tower servers be rack mounted?
Yes. The Dell PowerEdge T560 can be rack-mounted using an optional conversion kit, occupying 4.5U. This lets organizations start with a tower and move to rack infrastructure as they grow. For purpose-built rack servers, see our Dell PowerEdge rack servers page.
Do Dell tower servers support GPUs?
Yes. The T560 supports up to 2 double-wide 300W or 6 single-wide 75W GPUs — validated for NVIDIA L4 and other accelerators for AI inferencing, VDI, and GPU-accelerated workloads. The T360 supports a single NVIDIA A2 (60W) for entry-level edge AI and video analytics. VRLA Tech validates every GPU configuration with 48-hour burn-in testing.
What workloads are Dell tower servers best for?
Tower servers are ideal for office environments without dedicated server rooms. Common workloads include file and print serving, email and collaboration, database management (SQL Server, PostgreSQL), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox), edge AI inferencing, VDI, and branch office compute. The T560 handles enterprise workloads including AI inferencing with up to 6 GPUs.
How quiet are Dell tower servers?
Dell PowerEdge tower servers are specifically designed with office-friendly acoustics. Both the T560 and T360 feature optimized fan curves and thermal design for low noise operation, making them suitable for office, branch, retail, and small medical/legal environments where server room noise is not acceptable.
Should I choose a tower or a rack server?
Choose a tower when you need office-friendly deployment without a dedicated server room — quiet acoustics, compact footprint, no rack required. Choose a rack server when you need high-density deployment, multiple servers, or maximum GPU count. VRLA Tech configures both. See our Dell rack servers for the R770, R670, R7725, and R760xa.
Can VRLA Tech pre-install an OS on my Dell tower server?
Yes. We pre-install Ubuntu Server LTS, RHEL, SUSE, Windows Server 2025, or VMware vSphere plus NVIDIA drivers, CUDA, and any frameworks you need. Tower servers arrive ready to plug in and run from day one.
Can I get a quote on a Dell tower server?
Yes. Contact VRLA Tech with your workload, user count, storage needs, and environment. Quotes come back within one business day. We’ve configured Dell servers for enterprise, government, research, and defense customers since 2016.
