HPE Tower Server Questions

Models, specs, ordering, support

Answers to the most common questions about HPE ProLiant tower servers from VRLA Tech. Still have questions? Talk to our engineers.

What HPE tower server models does VRLA Tech configure?

VRLA Tech configures the HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen12 (dual-socket, Intel Xeon 6, up to 8 TB memory, up to 8 GPUs, iLO 7) and the HPE ProLiant ML110 Gen11 (single-socket, Xeon Scalable 4th/5th gen, up to 1.5 TB memory, up to 2 GPUs, iLO 6). Both are configured and supported from our Los Angeles facility.

What is the difference between the ML350 Gen12 and ML110 Gen11?

The ML350 Gen12 is a dual-socket enterprise tower with Intel Xeon 6 P-cores (up to 172 cores total), up to 8 TB DDR5, up to 8 GPUs, iLO 7 with FIPS 140-3 Level 3 security. The ML110 Gen11 is a single-socket entry tower with Xeon Scalable (up to 32 cores), up to 1.5 TB DDR5, up to 2 GPUs, iLO 6. Choose ML350 for enterprise, ML110 for SMB.

Can HPE tower servers be rack mounted?

Yes. Both support optional rack conversion kits — ML350 occupies 5U, ML110 occupies 5.5U. Start tower, go rack later. For purpose-built rack servers, see our HPE ProLiant rack servers page.

Do HPE tower servers support GPUs?

Yes. The ML350 Gen12 supports up to 8 single-wide or 4 double-wide GPUs including NVIDIA L4 and L40 for AI inferencing, VDI, and GPU-accelerated analytics. The ML110 Gen11 supports up to 2 single-wide L4 GPUs. VRLA Tech validates every GPU config with 48-hour burn-in testing.

What workloads are HPE tower servers best for?

Tower servers are ideal for office environments without dedicated server rooms. Common workloads: virtualization, database, file/print, ERP/CRM, VDI, backup, edge AI inferencing, and branch office compute. The ML350 Gen12 handles enterprise workloads including AI/ML with up to 8 GPUs and 8 TB memory.

How quiet are HPE tower servers?

Both are designed with office-friendly acoustics for deployment in environments without server rooms — offices, branches, retail sites, and medical or legal practices. Optimized fan curves and thermal design keep noise low during normal operation.

Should I choose a tower or rack server?

Choose a tower for office-friendly deployment without a rack — quiet, compact, no server room needed. Choose a rack server for high-density data center deployment with maximum GPU count and rack-scale networking. VRLA Tech configures both. See our HPE rack servers for the DL380, DL360, and DL380a Gen12.

Can VRLA Tech pre-install an OS?

Yes. We pre-install Ubuntu Server LTS, RHEL, SUSE, Windows Server 2025, or VMware vSphere plus NVIDIA drivers, CUDA, and any frameworks you need. Tower servers arrive ready to plug in and run.

Can I get a quote on an HPE tower server?

Yes. Contact VRLA Tech with your workload, user count, storage needs, and environment. Quotes come back within one business day. We’ve configured HPE servers for enterprise, government, research, and defense customers since 2016.

Why buy from VRLA Tech instead of HPE direct?

VRLA Tech configures for specific workloads with 48-hour burn-in testing. You get direct US-based engineers, a 3-year warranty, and lifetime support. Customers including General Dynamics, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Johns Hopkins University trust VRLA Tech.

What warranty and support does VRLA Tech provide?

3-year parts warranty and lifetime US-based engineer support. Same team that built your server, no tiered support, no offshore call centers. Failed parts replaced with shipping covered.

How long does delivery take?

5 to 10 business days for standard orders including configuration, 48-hour burn-in, thermal validation, and packaging. Firm timeline at order confirmation.

Does VRLA Tech support regulated industry deployments?

Yes. The ML350 Gen12 features FIPS 140-3 Level 3 and quantum-resistant security. VRLA Tech deploys for healthcare (HIPAA), law firms, defense (ITAR), and finance. Tower form factor is popular for offices needing on-premise data control. Legal · Healthcare · Finance

Does VRLA Tech offer financing?

Yes. VRLA Tech offers financing options. For enterprise and government customers requiring net terms or PO financing, contact our sales team. We accept purchase orders, ACH, wire transfers, and GSA payment processes.

Can I get a VRLA Tech custom server instead?

Yes. VRLA Tech builds custom servers using the same Intel Xeon, DDR5 ECC, and NVIDIA GPUs as HPE ProLiant — without the OEM premium. If procurement doesn’t require HPE, our custom servers deliver identical performance at lower cost. Explore VRLA Tech servers.
