How 3ds Max uses hardware

V-Ray GPU, Redshift, and OctaneRender are GPU renderers that depend on VRAM capacity and compute throughput. Choosing the right hardware for 3ds Max means knowing which renderer you rely on.

CPU: clock speed for interactive work, cores for rendering

3ds Max modeling, rigging, and animation workflows benefit from high single-core clock speed. The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X at 5.7GHz provides the fastest interactive experience for 3ds Max artists doing daily production work. GPU: viewport and renderer selection
